The following is required to become a foster parent:
  • Single or Married
  • TB Skin test or chest X-ray with negative results
  • Background check conducted through the Agency
  • Good Moral Character
  • Have your home inspected by agency and appropriate city departments (if needed)
  • Complete and provide all required paperwork
The process usually takes about 6 -8 weeks to complete depending on the perspective foster parents’ willingness to submit the documents in a timely manner.
If the child is up for adoption, then you can adopt your foster child that is placed in your home. We also offer adoption services. The agency has an in-house adoption lawyer who completes the legal process of the adoption with no additional expenses to you.
Yes, if the child is in the care of CPS. Kinship foster homes occur when a child is removed from their biological home and placed with a relative, grandparent, extended family members, a family friend or someone that is known to the child.
YES! It is a common misconception that only two-parent homes can become foster parents. We have several single parent homes that provide a loving and nurturing foster home for foster children.
You can own a home or rent an apartment. As long as the home/apartment is clean, tidy and allows 40sqft of bedroom space per child.
You have to be at least 21 years old to become a foster parent.
Yes, you will have to provide a stable income that can cover all of your basic expenses( bills, groceries, etc.)
Yes, you will be reimbursed for providing foster care services per the state requirements.
Yes, you will have to complete self-instructed trainings online and trainer-led trainings provided by the Agency.
